Frequently asked data security questions
How does Genvision protect my carbon project data?+
All carbon project documents, PDDs, and monitoring reports are stored in isolated, encrypted environments. Your data is never accessible to other clients and is never used to train AI models. Access is strictly limited to your authorized team members only.
Does Genvision use my data to train AI models?+
No. Your documents and uploaded content remain yours. We do not train or fine-tune any large language model on them, and neither do the AI providers we use. This is enforced contractually and technically: providers are selected for no-retention policies, and for routed inference the no-retention requirement travels with each request.
Where is my data stored?+
Documents and databases are stored on AWS in the EU, in Frankfurt and Stockholm. Application services run on AWS in the EU and on Vercel. Two categories are processed outside the EU. AI inference requests are handled transiently in vendor-provided regions under no-retention terms, and our document search index, which holds text excerpts and embeddings of your documents to power retrieval, is hosted on AWS in the United States. Both are safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We publish the full subprocessor list with locations.
Can I delete my data?+
Yes. You can export or delete your data at any time from the platform, and request a full export within 30 days of termination. After that, your data is deleted from active systems. We keep an encrypted archive for up to 10 years, restricted to security, audit trails and legal claims, with access limited to a need-to-know basis and logged. It is never used to train or fine-tune any model. You can request earlier deletion at any time and we will comply within a reasonable period, subject to backups aging out on a normal cycle.
Can I retain AI audit evidence for 10 years?+
Yes. Every check, finding, and source trace is exportable and stored in a format compatible with long-term audit retention requirements.
Could another client see my project data?+
No. Genvision is a multi-tenant platform with strict logical separation. Every record is bound to an organization and project, and every request is authorized against the caller's organization membership before any data is returned. We do not operate shared workspaces where one customer's project is visible to another.
What if my accreditation body asks how I use AI?+
We provide a procedural documentation package covering AI use, data privacy and reproducibility that you can present to your auditor.
Could a mistake by the AI cost us our certification?+
Your certification outcome is your responsibility. Genvision is an assistant, not an auditor. It surfaces findings and evidence; your qualified people make every decision, and every output requires professional review before submission.
